Job summary

Candidates for this post will be considered for band 6 to 7 progression supported by a full development plan as necessary.

Following the creation of the Clinical Systems Group at Wye Valley Trust to provide support for our digital systems as we move to business as usual state an opportunity has become available for a Clinical Functions Team Manager (EPR). Working closely with the team the manager will be involved in the management and optimisation of clinical noting, nurse noting, eObs, whiteboards, letter templates, order comms, investigations and pathology results, connection to GP records, allergies and alerts.

As development continues many other elements will fall under this teams management including further ongoing digital projects and integration between systems. With this in mind we are looking for a motivated individual with experience within this field. A focus on wider change management skills to support the ever changing requirements on the team. It is also key to possess an analytical mindset , great attention to detail, experience with stake holder engagement are key to the success of delivering in this position.

Main duties of the job

We will offer support to the successful candidate to enable them to;
  • Lead complex clinical and service change within the organisation by engaging and supporting the ongoing delivery of digitally enabled clinical transformation.
  • Lead the ongoing delivery and support of EPR functionality in close collaboration with the EPR PAS managers to ensure that the full scope of the EPR system function is supported.
  • System optimisation and support ongoing change, ensuring that the organisation meets its Global Digital Exemplar (GDE) commitments in respect of EPR functions.
  • To ensure communication is maintained between all stakeholders, internal and external to the organisation
  • To ensure that organisational procedures are adhered to; objectives are identified and met; the identification and realisation of benefits are facilitated.
  • To provide leadership and subject matter expertise on the management, maintenance, development, monitoring and upgrading of the clinical functions of the WVT EPR system.
  • To ensure robust EPR system governance and monitoring processes are established supported by suitable documentation and assurance records where appropriate.
  • To lead on the ongoing process of EPR system development and optimisation work in collaboration with clinical stakeholders.
  • To support the head of clinical systems in realising the Trust vision for building a central Clinical System Management Team to support the Trust's wider digitally mature clinical systems portfolio.

Education & Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree level qualification in a healthcare disciple OR IT subject OR equivalent experience
  • Experience of working within an EPR Programme or change environment
  • Experience in the development and/or management of clinical functionality within the Maxims EPR system


Desirable

  • Holds professional registration in a clinical discipline


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Essential

  • Knowledge and practical experience of change management and business re-design
  • Knowledge of project planning, implementation and management using project planning tools and recognised project management methodology
  • Business Process mapping and workflow diagram techniques and applications


Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a change environment with multiple stakeholders and securing their engagement to deliver change
  • Experience in working within a project management environment delivering business process/change initiatives across an organisation
  • Experience in delivering and/or managing EPR system functions in an NHS Trust
