A fantastic opportunity has arisen to develop our retina service, caring forpatients with macular and retia disease. We run one-stop and fast-track clinics including assessment, consultation and intravitreal injections treatment and also anti-VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) lists.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual who is keen to develop their skills, with support from our experienced team. We provide a variety of learning experiences, such as intravitreal injections and assisting clinicians with consultation. Our nursing team work closely with medical staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary team, to provide a high standard of safe and effective care. Each shift has a senior team member in charge who provides support to the team, and organises patient flow to enable the clinics to run smoothly.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work within the Macular Suite, providing care in a clinic environment in the Eye Outpatient department. They will be given an individually tailored induction programme, where senior staff will support them to learn the skills required to care for our patients as a Band 6 Macular Nurse Practitioner. Our senior team will guide and support them to work through required competencies until skills are mastered and confidence gained to work more independently.
