Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly team at The Royal Wolverhampton Trust as the CMDU Specialist Nurse - IV@Home Services. The CMDU supports patients across the Black Country ICB providing clinical triage, assessment, prescribing and treatment for vulnerable COVID-19 Positive Patients .

This post offers an outstanding opportunity to be part of the on the delivery of a Black Country wide service that will develop your skills and specialist knowledge in this clinical area. You will utilise your skills and experience of delivering excellent patient-centred care to deliver a gold standard service.

The successful candidate will be an integral member of our well-established CMDU team, supporting clinical excellence and operational efficiencies. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed nurse with excellent clinical and communication skills to join the CMDU IV@home treatment service providing IV treatments in the homes of our CMDU patients across the Black Country ICB.

The successful candidate with be based within Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and will provide COVID-19 IV treatments in the patients' home.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of the CMDU team to provide the following services:

Co-ordinate and deliver the administration of time sensitive COVID-19 IV treatments for our CMDU patients in their home

Participate in service improvement projects

Support safe administration and Medication Governance

Review and develop treatment guidelines, policies and procedures

Participate in the training of the wider clinical teams

Provide support to other CMDU functions or IV services across the Trust during times of reduced CMDU IV@Home demand

Applicants must be a registered clinical professional, have the ability to demonstrate clinical experience and competence in a broad range of medical and/or surgical specialties.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Clinical Professional (e.g. NMC)
  • IV treatment administration certification


Experience

Essential

  • Experience in supervising, training and assessing staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate clinical experience and competence in a broad range of medical and/or surgical specialties relevant to post.
  • Ability to demonstrate clinical experience in IV administration.


Desirable

  • Experience of working in a CMDU
  • Previous experience in an IV treatment service
  • Previous experience of a home visiting service
  • Experience of line management


Skills

Essential

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational, time management, prioritisation and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Commitment to and evidence of formal continuous professional development (CPD)
  • Experience of implementing or delivering the objectives of cost/service improvement programmes


Desirable

  • Ability to effectively work in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Evidence of undertaking audits and participating in clinical research
  • Ability to demonstrate specialist knowledge of COVID-19 Treatments
