Job summary
An exciting management opportunity has arisen to join the busy management team for the Head and Neck Directorate within the Surgical Care Group on the Poole site.
This is a busy and varied role, and you will need to be able to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and support your team at all times. You will also need to be exceptionally well organised to meet weekly and monthly deadlines, work using your own initiative, take responsibility, and be able to cope with ever changing priorities and demands.
The post holder will be required to lead on administration for the ENT and OMF services and manage a team of approximately 20 clerical and secretarial staff, developing administrative systems and processes in line with agreed standards, and in collaboration with the Head and Neck senior management team.
The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience of staff appraisals and recruitment processes, understanding of secretarial roles, ability to maintain a calm and supportive manner at all times whilst working under pressure, and be able to seek solutions and resolve enquiries using their own gathered information and initiative. They will have a broad knowledge base of various IT systems used within the NHS and will be experienced in the use of all Microsoft Office products, with a high level of IT literacy and written communication skills.
