Job summary
An exciting opportunity for enthusiastic Nurse has arisen to join our Respiratory Care team at St Helier hospital . Working as part of our highly effective Multidisciplinary team the post holder will enhance the work of the team to provide a seamless service for the management of people with a range of Respiratory diseases including Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and Asthma, pleural and Interstitial lung diseases
Working across all aspects of care delivery in both the acute wards and outpatient clinics the post holder must have clinical knowledge of respiratory conditions,. You will be required to demonstrate comprehensive assessment skills, knowledge of evidence based practice, and critical appraisal skills in applying theory to practice
The successful candidates must be capable of working independently to provide evidence based interventions to patients, demonstrating expert clinical skills and knowledge whilst promoting patient focused care
You will need to be a highly motivated individual with good interdisciplinary team-working skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to provide professional specialist clinical support to medical and nursing staff in relation to respiratory patients.
Whilst we are looking for an experienced registered nurse with experience within the Respiratory specialty, applicants with less experience would be encouraged and training would be provided
Main duties of the job
As a member of the Respiratory Team the post holder will provide a quality specialist service to respiratory patients based on researched clinical practice. They will act as specialist nurse to patients and there carers with chronic lung diseases and contribute to service developments aimed at improving patient outcomes.

- Contribute to the provision of an effective nurse specialist service ensuring delivery that is sensitive to patient need, innovative and meets defined standards.
- Assist the respiratory nurses in the delivery of hospital follow up care as appropriate and under supervision.
