We are looking for an analyst to join our Programme Management Office. Applying experience and skill sets developed in relatable role(s), you would be working with all areas of the organisation to support the effective management of change across the Trust. You will be proactive and able to engage effectively with colleagues to support the team in delivering support, oversight and assurance around a significant portfolio of projects.HCT prides itself on being a great place to work - one of our four key strategic objectives.

Main duties of the job

In the role of Programme Management Office Analyst you will support the effective management of change across the Trust. Working closely with the Trust's Programme and Project managers, you will support them in their understanding and application of change management processes and ensure the timely communication of progress, risks and issues. Your oversight of activities, will enable the provision of assurance to the Trust Executive Management, Board and Board sub-committees around the management of change across the organisation.

The post holder will be working within the Trust's Programme Management Office (PMO) and report to the Head of Risk and Assurance. The PMO are the strategic team who co-ordinate the design of change management processes and tools as well as monitor and report on the achievement of material change, including component programmes / projects of the Trust's Delivery Plan.

In the role, you will collate, analyse and report on the different programmes and/ projects themes including Productivity Improvement and Efficiency Schemes (PIES), Transformation programmes and other enabling programmes. With a significant volume of programmes and projects being managed across the organisation, you will contribute to the ongoing development of change management processes and may be required to support the resolution of issues where they arise.

Job responsibilities

  • Supporting the production of the annual Trust Delivery Plan and reporting progress against plan to the Executive Team and governing committees.
  • Maintaining a database record of all the Trusts programmes / projects and PIES, ensuring they are monitored, tracked and mapped to the Trusts strategic aims and objectives.
  • Receiving and collating the project management reports from Programme / Project managers, analysing delivery against targeted milestones and benefits and translating a large and complex book of work into effective management reporting.
  • Verifying the status of all programmes / projects and PIES, identifying areas of non-delivery and any common themes that need to be addressed and escalating areas of concern.
  • Provide support to project / initiative owners to evaluate project management requirements, issues or bottlenecks and find solutions to these.
  • Adhering to a timetable of reporting for all the Trusts programmes / projects, ensuring that timely information is received and communicated at the appropriate level.
  • Maintaining the Trusts programme / project management and Change Control documentation, ensuring that the appropriate approvals are obtained.
  • Monitoring and analysing interdependencies across programmes / projects including the possible impacts on Business As Usual (BAU).
  • Producing the minutes and/or the actions from specific governance committees.
  • Occasional travel to other Trust locations.


Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree or having equivalent experience


Desirable

  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Project, programme or portfolio management qualification e.g. PRINCE2 or Managing Successful Programmes


Experience

Essential

  • Experience of planning, monitoring, delivering and evaluating programmes / projects using the appropriate tools frameworks and techniques.
  • Experience of contributing to the delivery of key performance targets.
  • Generation and extraction of information for operational and reporting requirements
  • Delivery of effective management reporting


Desirable

  • Experience of working in the NHS or similar organisation


Skills

Essential

  • Ability to manage complex issues, to research, investigate and challenge
  • Ability to communicate complex and sensitive information with a range of staff internally and externally
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
