Job summary

We are recruiting a band 7 Transformation Project Manager to join our Transformation Team:

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic transformation project manager. We are keen to hear from you whether you are experienced in a similar role and looking for a new challenge or more diverse experiences as well as if you are looking for a development opportunity to stretch and build on what you have done previously.

The Transformation Team is an essential part of making improvements to the way in which we deliver care, in partnership with our system partners. We are a very highly regarded team in HCT and are involved in leading and supporting a wide variety of projects and programmes that have a direct impact on the experiences and outcomes of our service users. We are a supportive and friendly team, keen to support the development of team members.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will manage the successful delivery of a range of projects and work areas across Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT). The post holder will work across the Trust providing support for projects that are both internal and external facing, will analyse requirements, support the governance and enable new and improved ways of working that supports our delivery of safe and high-quality patient care.

The post holder will use their experience and demonstrable project management skills to ensure that projects are well planned, efficiently implemented and pre-determined benefits are realised. They will work in collaboration with senior colleagues, clinicians, technical subject matter experts, frontline staff and a range of colleagues from within the Trust and from partner organisations and commissioners.

Job responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage all project resources and relevant project documentation ranging from project start-up, progress reports, risk and issue logs and project close-down reports
  • Maintain and manage project plans for all allocated projects.
  • Communicate project progress, including to any relevant programme boards, celebrating progress and effectively escalating challenges to seek support and solutions
  • Ensure the project remains on track to deliver outcomes in line with time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Establish and manage relevant project meetings to ensure the proper functioning of the project
  • Use own creativity, ingenuity, ideas, and analysis of relevant data to support colleagues to identify best practice and possible improvements
  • Actively contribute as a vital member of the Transformation Team and wider Strategy Directorate, enthusiastically supporting colleagues and attending and contributing to team and directorate meetings
  • Supporting our desire to continuously improve, members of the Transformation Team are supported to develop, learn and improve. All team members then have a key role in bringing any learning back to the team to support the development of others

    Person Specification

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • Educated to Masters Degree level or equivalent knowledge and experience.
    • Further training and experience in project management e.g. LEAN, PRINCE2 or equivalent skills demonstrated through experience


    Desirable

    • Other relevant qualifications or further training demonstrating commitment to continual professional development and improvement


    Experience

    Essential

    • Extensive project management experience including developing all key documentation and delivering change within agreed timescales
    • Experience of designing and delivering service improvements
    • Experience of working with and effectively engaging a variety of stakeholders, including senior leaders at a senior level in a large organisation
    • Experience of planning and facilitating meetings and workshops, designed to achieve specified objectives


    Desirable

    • Experience of leading or supporting projects within and NHS or public sector environment


    Skills

    Essential

    • Highly developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to persuade, influence and negotiate to achieve successful outcomes
    • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to use and analyse data to draw conclusions and develop recommendations
    • Highly developed interpersonal skills with highly attuned understanding of different audiences and sensitivities
    • Ability to understand complex information with a curiosity to ask relevant questions and use data to further insight
