Job summary
An exciting an innovative new role has arisen in the Black Country which will provide a bridge between established probation and mental health services.
Join this award winning mental health team and provide a valuable assessment and some treatment services to probation. Supported by both services with an aim to reduce offending and improve health outcomes for individuals.
The post holder will support the provision of high quality recovery oriented mental health services to a designated group of service users within the criminal justice system. Referral will be identified primarily from probation and health agencies and are likely to have a number of complex and challenging issues as well as co morbidity with e.g. a substance misuse, violent and/or sexual offending behaviour.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with people who find themselves within the Integrated Offender Management (IOM) Criminal Justice System (CJS) and at various stages of it and are suspected or recognised as experiencing mental health problems.
To work within various settings of the CJS (e.g. courts, prisons, probation offices, approved premises etc.) providing specialist assessment and advice to other professionals regarding risk and care needs.
When assessing mental health referrals, the post holder will be required to have basic knowledge and understanding of multiple and all age vulnerabilities, i.e. ADHD, ASD, PTSD, ABI, Personality Disorder, and Learning Difficulty etc.

Employed by the NHS for the service commissioned by probation for a 12 month pilot service with a potential to extend dependant on outcomes. All required support offered from probation and health.
Pay is determined by NHS agenda for change.
All training is provided as required.
