Job description

Work somewhere that values you, your career and your patients!

Join our dedicated nurse-led team on the Eric and Marion Scott Oncology Day Unit as an Oncology Advanced Nurse Practitioner!

About the role and our team

Our state-of-the-art oncology unit opened in 2019 and provides 11 treatment chairs for systemic anticancer therapies and an on-suite for supportive treatments. We are a nurse-led service with remote input from Oncologists based at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in the UK and we are excited to be expanding our team to support current patient needs and service demands.

Working autonomously, you’ll be responsible for comprehensive and complex patient assessments; ordering and interpreting investigative work in forming differential diagnoses and subsequent treatment planning; admitting patients into appropriate clinical areas; providing follow up; and referring to other disciplines both locally and throughout the network in the UK. You will also be the main 2nd and subsequent cycle SACT prescriber.

If you would like to work with a supportive team in a dynamic, well-established but continually developing unit, then come and join our team where no two days are the same!

What can this role offer me?

By joining us you’ll be stepping away from NHS pressures and demands, as the Island’s healthcare system is similar but separate to the UK NHS.

We are a nurse-led unit which allows nurses to develop skills and competencies and reach their full potential.

You will have access to excellent development facilities and support, including our on-site education & training centre Keyll Darree. Our nursing and management teams strongly encourage personal and professional development.

We have free on-site car parking at Noble’s Hospital.

You’ll also receive a competitive salary with incremental pay progression, excellent holiday entitlement and a generous pension scheme.

Manx Care is committed to creating smoke-free spaces and is ‘proud to be smoke free’ as part of the overall Isle of Man Smoke Free 2030 ambition. As of April 1st 2021 smoking is no longer permitted on our Manx Care & DHSC sites, including nursing, residential and EMI units around the Island. For support and advice on abstinence from smoking, please contact Quit4You on 642404 or Quit4You@gov.im.
