Highly Specialist Physiotherapist (AfC Band 7) in Orthopaedics and Spinal

Main duties of the job

It is a really exciting time for Swansea Bay physiotherapy service as we have secured a large investment into our proposed Centre of Excellence for Orthopaedics and Spinal Surgery at Neath Port Talbot Hospital. Come and join our forward thinking physiotherapy team.

We are currently recruiting for a Highly Specialised Orthopaedic and Spinal Physiotherapist primarily based in Neath Port Talbot Hospital. We are looking for an individual with substantial and broad experience within Physiotherapy and knowledge of the workings of Physiotherapy services.

The post holder will work as part of a flexible team, overseeing a busy orthopaedic clinical caseload, supervision of junior staff members, students and service improvement.

A diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy and Professional registration with HCPC are essential along with the ability to travel between sites and in the community.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Job description

Job responsibilities

You should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, being able to communicate effectively with patients who have a variety of physical and communication difficulties as well as with family members/carers, colleagues and multi disciplinary team members.

The role will also entail using electronic systems and some administrative responsibilities; therefore good I.T. knowledge and competency using I.T. systems is essential.

  • Evidence of Leadership within a T&O physiotherapy service in the NHS
  • Evidence of specialist T&O clinical experience in the NHS
