Job summary

We are looking for a full time CAMHS Clinician to join our highly successful Redcar Getting More Help Team ( CAMHS) based at The Ridings, Redcar.

This is a full time, 12 month fixed term position

We are a forward thinking, creative team that encourages all team members to share their ideas to improve our service for young people and their families. The role of the CAMHS clinician is crucial in young peoples recovery and improving outcomes.

The team are warm and friendly andare supportive towards each other and always open minded. As a team we are always approachable, down to earth and very professional.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of an MDT that consists of Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing staff, OT, and support staff - all supported by a dedicated admin team.

You will be responsible for managing a caseload and hold Care Co-ordinator/Lead Professional responsibility.

You will offer assessment and treatment for the young people allocated to you and liaise with partner agencies.

Redcar GMH Team (CAMHS) support the staff through ongoing supervision, case discussions and reflective practice

Person Specification



  • Current professional registration with appropriate body in healthcare or social work.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Clinical Supervisor
  • Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area (within agreed timescale)
  • Depending on work area, recognised sign-off mentor (or equivalent) or must be achieved within agreed timescale


  • Leadership or management qualification.
  • CAMHS Degree
  • Certificate in teaching & assessing in clinical practice as appropriate to own profession
  • Recognised qualification in a specific model of therapy e.g. family therapy, CBT etc.
  • Recognised training in Facilitation of Parenting Groups



  • Significant experience working with children and young people with mental ill health in a community setting.
  • Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
  • Evidence of Quality Improvement Methodology



  • Communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to children and young people, carers/families and all members of the multidisciplinary team
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake lead professional / care co-ordinator responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and monitor, co-ordinate and prioritise the activities of a team.
