Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right person to join the management team within Birmingham Healthy Minds Talking Therapies (formerly IAPT).

Birmingham Healthy Minds (BHM) is a psychological therapies service for common mental health issues and offers evidence based psychological intervention using CBT approach at both step 2 and step 3 in accordance with NICE recommended guidance for depression and anxiety disorders. BHM feeds into the BSOL system as a major provider of talking therapies.

The post holder will have an operational role and will be able to demonstrate high standards of supervision, strong leadership and a commitment to team working. The successful candidate will work alongside the Clinical Service Manager, Clinical Lead and Team Managers and will be involved in service budget analysis, managing sickness absences, supporting the teams to meet KPI's for the service and the wider Trust.

The ability to contribute to the strategic plan of the service is also important as well as being a visible leader working with and supporting staff teams within BHM.

A good working knowledge of Trust & Talking Therapies IAPTUS Data Systems is advantageous.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will support Clinical Service Manager to provide effective and efficient management of delegated resources within Talking Therapies service ensuring care delivery and interventions meets and addresses the issues of spirituality, equality diversity and rights in accordance with good practice and legislation
  • To support the Clinical Service Manager and Clinical Lead in the management of all clinical risks in the service, including serious and critical incident management, periodic review and analysis of service development, service performance and service needs/overview.
  • To conduct and oversee audit of core activity and relevant aspects of services provided. The post holder will lead in the assessment planning implementation and evaluation of care across the clinical service, and ensure that staff have a working knowledge of local, national policies and legislation which govern current service provision.
  • Provide leadership on practice issues and providing leadership and management to teams.
  • In case of untoward incidents, co-ordinate reporting including contact and liaise with appropriate agencies and personnel.

Work with partner agencies (statutory and third sector) to ensure seamless pathways across the ICS.
