Job summary

As a band 6 cardiac rehabilitation nurse you would have an opportunity to provide specialist nursing advice and support to patients with heart disease and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/ clients and relatives/carers, in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary cardiac rehabilitation team in line with local and national targets. The post holder will provide specialist nursing care and support to patients. This will involve dealing with complex situations and having to take appropriate action in a variety of settings. The post requires good interpersonal skills. The post holder would need to be flexible in their approach to the clinical areas and to provide cover if required.

As a band 6 Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse you would have First Level Registration, at least 2 year experience in cardiac care, ENB 998 or equivalent, you would be ILS trained and have understanding of health education delivery. For further details in the job description.

The post holder will be based at Hanwell Health Centre but will be expected to move across all community sites as required. The post holder would attend cardiac rehabilitation classes and clinics at the community settings regularly. We are happy to consider job share.

Person Specification

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Minimum 2 years post registration experience in cardiology/ cardiothoracics
  • Teaching experience
  • Delivering Health Promotion to individuals and/or groups
  • Experience of auditing and evaluating clinical nursing care


EDUCATION

Essential

  • First Level Registration
  • Post Registration qualification in Cardiology/ related subject
  • ALS/ ILS trained
  • ENB 998 or equivalent
