An opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join our Therapy teams at UHD.

As a Band 5 within our teams we can offer you:

A one-year post graduation Preceptorship Programme

A wide range of experience in rotations available across acute hospital sites, and into the community through our collaborative partnerships and Discharge to Assess pathways, or the potential for a static post in one team.

To be successful in securing this post, you will have:

- Experience of working as an occupational therapist (or relevant placement experience)

- Willing to participate in 7 day working on a rota basis

We welcome applicants wishing for part-time or full time posts, and who wish for rotational or static posts in teams. This can be discussed on application and through interview.

Base Location: Poole Hospital or Royal Bournemouth Hospital

Interview Date: TBC

Person Specification

Education

Essential

  • Pre reg Degree in Occupational Therapy either BSc(Hons) or MSc (Hons)
  • HCPC Registration


Desirable

  • Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists


Skills

Essential

  • Ability to carry out all aspects of the post which involves patient handling and carrying equipment
  • Good problem solving and clinical reasoning skills
  • Ability to organise and prioritise


Experience

Essential

  • Student experience/placements in the following areas: o Acute physical inpatient areas o Community health areas
  • Use of functional assessment and activity analysis


Desirable

  • Experience working within a care setting.
  • Supervision of assistant staff
  • Involvement in audit or quality improvement projects


Personal Attributes

Essential

  • Ability to drive and hold a clean driver's license


Other

Essential

  • Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance
  • Good written and verbal skills
  • Able to work within a multi-disciplinary team
