Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Moorfields Eye NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking to recruit a Team Leader / Senior Ophthalmic Technician to manage the day to day operational service at our Hoxton Virtual Site, to support and provide leadership within our Medical Imaging department.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in ensuring patients receive quality care and receive an efficient service during any stage of their care.
Main duties of the job
The position provides an opportunity for the person to provide training and support to staff at Band 3 and Band 4 both at the Hoxton Virtual Hub and our main site City Road to develop skills and help to embed a continuous quality improvement culture across the service.
As a Team Leader we encourage you to have a delegated responsibility as part of your own personal development.
About us
You will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team working closely with the Team Leader at City Road and Head of Imaging & Ultrasound and your colleagues ensuring an effective delivery of a quality services and compliance with national waiting time standards.
This role is suitable for anyone who is looking to develop their clinical ophthalmic skills, whilst working within an operational and leadership position.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD
This post will be subject to a probationary period of 6 months.
During the probationary period, your suitability for continued employment will be assessed and provided a satisfactory standard is achieved and maintained, your employment will be confirmed.The probationary period may be extended or your employment terminated either during or at the end of probation, in line with the trust Probationary Policy. For the duration of the probation period, the notice period will be in line with contractual obligations on either side.

- First level degree in Healthcare Science or equivlaent
Experience

- Minium of 3 years experience working in an ophthalmic setting

- 3 Years experience / working of ophthalmic technical equipment
- 2 Years staff management experience
Desirable
- Able and willing to undertake management / leadership training
- 1 year experience of teaching
- Working knowledge of E-Roster (or equivalent)
