The post holder must have a working knowledge of commercial clinical trials and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and good organisational skills.

Main duties of the job

Brief Description of the Role:

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of the respiratory nursing team ensuring appropriate cover and skill mix for smooth running of research projects.

They will be expected to take part in all aspects of commercial clinical trials, including phlebotomy, ECGs, observations and history taking. The post holder will also need to have excellent record keeping skills and maintain files and notes accurately. They will also be required to educate patients re: medication use and completing diaries and train relevant health care workers regarding trial protocols.

The post holder will be expected to liaise with general practices and trial monitors, attend and complete relevant training.

• Registered Nurse
• Minimum 1 years' experience at senior level research
• Experience of research/audit
• Experience of clinical research recruitment within a hospital setting
• Experience of leading trial set up

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively on many levels
• Effective time management skills - well organised, ability to prioritise and organise own work without direct supervision
• Clear and accurate preparation and presentation of oral and written information with meticulous attention to detail

• Evidence of working in a large organisation, across multiple disciplinary teams and departments
