Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic, motivated and articulate specialist nurse in infection prevention & control who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to influence others. The post is a secondment until the 31st March 2024
Main duties of the job
You must have the ability to work on your own initiative undertaking the day-to-day management of your clinical areas and providing effective infection control services through the Trust. You must have commitment to influence change and drive progress in the challenging and changing speciality of infection prevention and control.

Barts Health NHS Trust already has an established and successful infection prevention & control service (5 Hospital sites). This Band 7 post provides the opportunity to work with the Royal Londons Hospital DIPCs and Senior Nurses in Infection Prevention and Control to develop and motivate Trust wide staff and to be involved and influence the outcome of patient care in a busy London Teaching Hospital, where infection prevention & control standards are essential.

Qualifications
Essential
- RGN/RN level 1 or relevant professional qualification
- Evidence of post registration education
- Holds a diploma / degree in infection control / revenant degree or equivelant
- Awareness of current communicable disease issues
- Teaching (mentorship in practice or equivalent)
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Demonstrate knowledge of the application of evidence-based practice.
Experience

- 5 years post registration
- 2 years at band 6 in infection prevention and control setting or relevant experience
- Experience at leading teams

- Evidence of undertaking clinical audit / risk assessments
