Job summary
We are seeking applications from enthusiastic and committed individuals to join the Radiology's senior management team as the Deputy Head of Radiology on a 12 month fixed term basis. The post holder will provide the overall leadership, advice and strategic direction for the Radiology.
You will work closely with the other Deputy Head of Radiology, Directorate Management Team, modality superintendents and senior colleagues to ensure a patient focused, safe, efficient and cost effective intervention service that is able to meet the current and future needs of our patients.
This will require you to line manage a designated team, manage your budget, assist in the delivery of access, activity and financial targets and closely monitor and deal with relevant clinical governance issues.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high quality imaging services on the St Thomas' site, Guy's site Guy's Cancer Centre and the Evelina Children's Hospital.

The post holder is responsible for the provision of Radiology Services across the Trust to both internal and external referral sources. They will ensure that Radiology services are developed and delivered to a diversity of patient presentations across all specialties.
- Proactively inform the planning and strategic processes for service development within Radiology and the Trust.
- Responsible for the operational service delivered on a 24/7 basis across both hospital sites and all sub Departments included therein in liaison with service managers as appropriate.
- Provide professional leadership to all Radiographic staff and be responsible for the delivery of all elements of training, professional development, and personnel management.
- Act as an internal & external representative in Trust arenas as well as with higher education institutions, professional bodies and commercial companies.
- Evaluate the appropriateness of research proposals and direct in areas requiring further development or review.
- Responsible for physical resources including equipment and technology and to inform the business planning process.
- Act as deputy to the Head of Radiology Services.
