An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Trainer to become the Lead Physical Interventions Trainer (LD and the developing training for OPMH) within the Positive Behaviour Management (PBM) ABMU, BILD ACT, RRN training standards Certified Physical Interventions Training Department, which sits as part of the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Service Group in SBUHB.

The successful candidate will work as part of a triumvirate that is collectively responsible for the development and delivery of the strategic and operational framework. The lead trainer will take the lead on the ongoing assessment, management, evaluation and delivery of the physical interventions training model - in respect of internal staff teams, service user, families, local authorities, health boards and independent sector organisations

Main duties of the job

To review, develop, monitor and deliver PBM ABMU - patient population specific Training

To facilitate Train the Trainer Workshops

To complete and evaluate internal and external Organisational Training Needs Analysis for all Organisations that commission PBM ABMU Training

To conduct and collate audits

To provide advice, guidance and mentorship to all other PBM ABMU Trainers

To provide advice, guidance and support in relation to queries that are received by the PBM ABMU Training Team (internal and external)

To provide practical support as required in relation to more complex clinical cases

To contribute to the broader Reducing Restrictive Practice agenda

To identify and contribute to research projects

To identify, contribute to and facilitate service improvement/quality improvement

PBM ABMU or RRN Training Standards Certificated Trainer

Essential

  • Holds a current PBM ABMU Trainer certificate or equivalent


PBS qualification

Essential

  • Minimum of level 4 PBS qualification achieved


Experience

  • Significant experience in the field of Learning Disability/Mental Health Services
  • Teaching qualification


Desirable

  • Experience of project management
  • Holds a current first aid at work certificate
