We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for experienced or newly qualified psychologists looking to complete their preceptorship or CBTp therapists, looking for either full or part time work, to enjoy a variety of clinical work in the EIP and/or ARMS services. Due to the expansion of our Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) services and creation of our new At Risk Mental State (ARMS) services, we have a number of vacancies available for 7/8a clinical/counselling psychologists or CBTp therapists with our Mid and South Essex EIP and ARMS teams. There is therefore the potential for successful candidates to tailor the role to their locality and service preferences.
Main duties of the job
Mid EIP & ARMS
The Mid EIP team, is a friendly MDT team working in the community of Mid Essex (including Chelmsford, Braintree, Maldon and Halstead) providing evidence based services in innovative ways to people aged 14+, experiencing a first episode of psychosis.
Within the same geographical area, our new ARMS (At Risk Mental State) service will be working with young people and adults aged 14-35 considered to be at risk of developing psychosis. There are a number of new posts in this new multi-disciplinary team aimed at offering predominantly, but not exclusively, psychosocial interventions with an evidence base of mental health prevention.
South East EIP
The Essex Support and Treatment of Early Psychosis (ESTEP) in South East Essex is based at Rochford Hospital and covers the Southend, Castlepoint and Rochford areas. The team work with individuals between 14-65 years old who are experiencing their first episode of psychosis. The psychology team includes a variety of practitioners who deliver individual, family and group interventions. The roles also offer different opportunities to collaborate with service users and the wider MDT in terms of community based projects as well as championing service delivery improvements within the team.

As specialist mental health services, EIP and ARMS are based on NICE-recommended interventions which include comprehensive assessment and psychological interventions for psychosis or co-existing mental health problems (e.g. depression, anxiety, emerging personality disorder, substance misuse). These activities are often supported with family interventions, recovery coordination, social prescribing and education/employment support.
The post holder will also support the wider team in developing effective treatment plans and encouraging engagement with team members.
The successful candidate will also be involved in ongoing service evaluations and active collaboration in service delivery and quality improvement activities.
Please be advised that this advert showcases the salary scales for the bottom of Band 7 to the top of Band 8a, this is due to the available option to undergo a Preceptorship at Band 7 to Band 8a. The Band 7 salary scale is �43,742 - �50,056 per annum and the Band 8a salary scale is �50,952 - �57,349 per annum, depending on experience.
