This is a challenging and varied role where you will be required to use your clinical, operational, managerial and leadership expertise. The post holder will be required to work independently and as part of a team using initiative whilst applying a high level of confidentiality to all of their work.

You must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, manage and prioritise workload whilst managing a nursing task force.

Main duties of the job

Within this role the post holder will be expected to assess patients, the care devised, and the implementation of that care. Provide advice and guidance to the multidisciplinary team and ensure all records and documentation are completed and relevant.

The role involves managing staff, rotas, appraisals, recruitment and selection, resource control and budget management for the area.

This role involves the overall 24-hour responsibility for the department and therefore will require enhanced communication skills to deal with the broad range of issues involved in the day-to-day management of the department.
