The At Risk Mental State (ARMS) Service is seeking a Band 6 Community Practitioner. Applications are welcome from registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers , Occupational Therapists with at least two years post qualifying experience.
ARMS is an exciting new service offering psychological interventions to 14 - 25 year olds, to prevent the onset of psychosis, across the Cumbria locality. The service is research active and hopes to expand provision longer term. This is an opportunity to be a part of a small, supportive team, where your contribution to development is highly valued. The service is committed to developing skills of practitioners, with opportunities for therapeutic skills training for this specialist role.
You will be involved in assessing, providing evidence based therapeutic interventions to service users across a hybrid primary and secondary care model. People with an At Risk Mental States have a wide variety of needs. Formulation is core to developing effective interventions. Working collaboratively with other services, promoting the service, being able to work autonomously, and flexibly around the needs of young people are important for this role.
This is a full time post. We will consider part time applicants depending on circumstances. Base is negotiable as travel throughout Cumbria is required.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the Assessment/ Management of casework of service users who have complex needs.Provide specialist clinical advice to Service Users/Carers, staff, statutory agencies, 3rd sector partner agencies and the public.In collaboration with the Service User/Carer where appropriate, develop Recovery and Wellbeing focused Care Plans, ensuring regular reviews to monitor progress and adapt Care Plan as necessary.To consider Carer needs and ensure Carer/ family are involved in Care Planning where appropriateTo deliver evidenced based Clinical and Psychologically based Interventions.The post holder will work as a member of the Multi-disciplinary Team ensuring that high quality individualised care is delivered which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing and maximising independence.Coordinate Treatment Planning & Interventions, Reviews and Discharge Planning.Provide clinical supervision to staff as delegated by Pathway Clinical Lead and Pathway Manager.To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect, dignity.To incorporate a client centred philosophy into nursing practice and client centred collaborative care.Work flexibly to meet the needs of Service Users across pathways which may regularly include working extended and flexible hours over 7 days a week to ensure high quality of care is delivered at all times.
