Job summary

Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you a senior nurse with an interest in patient flow? Do you have excellent communication skills?

We are looking to recruit a Bed/Duty Manager into the Patient Flow team at York Hospital. The role of the Bed Manager is vital to the safe running of an acute hospital and you will have a unique bird's eye view of the hospital. You will be a forward thinking, positive and dynamic registered adult nurse with a can do attitude. You will also have excellent leadership and communication skills.

Main duties of the job

You will need to have a passion for ensuring patients receive quality care and have a good experience by ensuring patients are in the right place at the right time. You will be involved in service improvement and transformation projects.

You will be joining a well-established team and will be supported with a period of induction and competencies to achieve. You will be supported by the whole team and have a buddy for ongoing support.

The role requires you to work both days and night, also covering out of hours duty management, you will be working with senior on-call managers, matrons and ward teams.

Thenew salary rates for this year(2023/24)willtake effect from 1 April 2023. Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • First level Adult Registered Nurse
  • Evidence of continued professional developments


Desirable

  • Degree in Health related topic or able to demonstrate equivalent experience


Previous Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working as a senior nurse at Band 6 or above for minimum of 2 years.
  • Leadership and managing a team, including HR processes and rostering skills
  • Service Improvement and Managing change

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to influence, delegate and negotiate
  • Team player and team building skills.
  • Decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload
