Job summary
This is permanent position located on Fortuneswell Ward which is a 17 bed ward caring for acute oncology and haematology patients at Dorset County Hospital.
We would like to invite Registered Nurses/Paramedics who are keen to support the care of our patients.
**Previous Applicants Need Not Apply**
Main duties of the job
The post requires excellent communication skills, with a range of health professionals in relation to patient admission and discharge, to support the working of the team with internal and external agencies and fellow professionals and to support safe and effective patient discharges from hospital and assist with patient flow.
Staff will be supported to deliver chemotherapy to patients in a safe working environment to our oncology and haematology patients.

Ensure all staff have a successful work/life balance dependant on the requirements of the service across a full 24/7 shift pattern

- UK NMC Registered Nurse Band 5
Desirable
- Evidence of recent CPD
- Recognised cytotoxic chemotherapy course and/or recognised haematology course or willing to attend
Knowledge & Experience
Desirable
- Evidence of ability to work as a competent practitioner
- Significant and recent post registration experience in medicine/surgery or ED
- Experience of care of the immuno-compromised patient
Skills and Abilities
Desirable
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues patients and visitors
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Understanding of professional nursing issues, confidentiality and risk management
