An exciting vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Dietitian to work as a Paediatric Dietitian for Morecambe Bay Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This full time post will be split between Paediatric Diabetes (0.5 wte) and general Paediatric Dietetics (0.5wte). The post would ideally be suited to a specialist Dietitian looking to advance their skills and knowledge or an advanced Dietitian with relevant clinical experience.

The successful applicant will work alongside experienced Paediatrician's, Nurses, Dietitians and Therapists who are responsible for providing a service across social and health care boundaries.
The post will cover both inpatient and outpatient work and you will responsible for managing a complex caseload covering a wide range of clinical areas including Diabetes, nutrition support, enteral feeding, gastroenterology, food allergies and feeding problems.
As a Trust we actively support you to develop your knowledge and skills through our Annual Development Review programme. You will use your knowledge and skills to support the learning and development of colleagues and contribute towards updating protocols and resources. You will be encouraged to develop your skills as a Clinical Educator supporting, with others, undergraduate students from a range of disciplines.
Applicants will be HCPC registered dietitians. The post is based at Furness General Hospital, Barrow in Furness and will require you to travel to other sites and clinic locations.
About us
We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period. This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
