Main duties of the job

We are looking for motivated and committed nurses who share our passion for caring for emergency surgical patients. A calm, diplomatic and caring approach and a commitment to provide high quality, safe and effective care is essential.We care for emergency and elective patients with a wide range of upper GI, colorectal and urological conditions on a 28 bedded unit.Support is given to all our new nurses whilst they work in the main ward area for their first 6-12 months. Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered nurse.(2)
  • Degree or Diploma


Desirable

  • Teaching Qualification
  • Degree level 6 study Diploma


Training and Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working on own and as part of a team
  • Ability to supervise and support junior staff.
  • Evidence of teaching and assessing skills/ability.
  • Awareness of clinical Audit


Desirable

  • Evidence undertaking a mentor/preceptor role
  • Experience in relevant area of practice


Knowledge

  • Knowledge of current nursing issues
