Job summary

The clinical nurse specialist, respiratory is a skilled nurse who uses clinical, communication and people skills to identify the needs of people with respiratory conditions in particular COPD and oxygen users and give care that recognizes social, cultural, and spiritual differences within their lifestyle. The nurse has clinical knowledge in this specialist field and works independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

We are an integrated team of specialist nurses and physiotherapists working across East Berkshire, led by an award-winning Consultant Nurse. We uphold a high standard of care for our patients providing seamless integrated care in the most appropriate setting.

You will work as part of a collaborative team, providing respiratory care in both community, hospital and clinic settings. You will develop knowledge and skills to work within the Home Oxygen service, running clinics and prescribing Home Oxygen Therapy independently.

Working hours are Monday to Friday and one Saturday every 6-8 weeks, the service is looking towards a 7 day per week service.

  • RGN, Degree, Post basic qualification, teaching and assessing or Qualified Paramedic with HCPC registration
