Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active Sonographers to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed, supportive and dynamic team within the Division of Diagnostics and Clinical Support at Wirral University Teaching Hospital.
Applicants must hold a recognised ultrasound qualification (PgCert, PgDip or DMU) and be eligible to work in the United Kingdom with HCPC/NMC registration. Nuchal Translucency accreditation is desirable although training will be provided if required.
A wide range of obstetric and non-obstetric examinations are undertaken across four sites on the Wirral Peninsula.
Arrowe Park Hospital is the main hospital site and the other three are Birkenhead, Wallasey and Clatterbridge.
We can offer flexible working which can be agreed before commencing at the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Sonographers will be expected to have experience in: General Abdominal, Pelvis, Obstetric and small parts scanning. Experience in MSK and paediatric scanning is desirable.

- Registered with HCPC or other Regulatory Body
- BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or DCR Equivalent or degree in Health related subject
- Post Graduate diploma/certificate or equivalent in medical ultrasound or stand alone Ultrasound qualification if Direct Entry
- Current up to date portfolio demonstrating interest in Ultrasound
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team

- Minimum 3 years post graduate experience in Radiography or equivalent.

- Basic knowledge of ultrasound scanning
- Able to communicate emotional, sensitive issues with empathy
- Willing to learn and develop new skills in ultrasound via additional training or courses
