Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our devolping Bariatric service at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. The post holder ideally needs to have experience within Surgical nursing /Multidisiplnary meetings and managing their own caseload.

The succesful candidate will be joining a multidisiplinary team of UGI consultants, Dieticians , Psychologist and the management team looking to continue developing this new service

Main duties of the job

To Co-ordinate individual patient's care by providing the link between ranges of healthcare professionals , ensuring a smooth pathway through the specialist bariatric service. In addition the role requires the successful candidate to develop good inter-disciplinary working with effective communication accross health and social care boundries, including advice to GP's regarding follow up care based upon clinical evidence.

Job responsibilities

Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.

Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email mtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.net if this is problematic)and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.

Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at Enhanced Level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)

  • oWorking in Teams
  • oWorking with minimal supervision
  • oCompetence across a range of nursing skills supported by professional and clinical knowledge.
  • oPossess the mandatory training requirements for role including infection control and health and safety competencies.
  • oDemonstrate principles of accountable practice
  • oEnglish Language to IETLS 7.0

  • oExperience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes.

Qualifications

  • oMaster's Degree or equivalent relevant experience
