Job summary

The perfect person for this role would display excellent communication and interpersonal skills including:

The essential ability to use your own initiative

Effective planning and organisation of your time

The ability to work well under pressure.

You will also be able to demonstrate that you have had previous experience of leading change and have a good track record of delivering initiatives and new ways of working.

You must have considerable experience either within: Recovery, another high acuity area or have had people management experience. You must also have the clinical skills to work within the existing team structure.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for coordinating the Recovery area on a day to day basis, liaising with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety.

You will be allocated a small team of staff and be responsible for their development, including: appraisals, revalidation, training and career development.

You will deputise for the team leader and complete various managerial requirements such as rotas.

You will be allocated a link role and have the chance to run small projects autonomously.

  • Recent experience of working in either Recovery or other high acuity area
  • Evidence of ability to manage unstable patients
  • Evidence of AIMS/ Acute care skills, or equivalent

  • Evidence of formal development
  • Knowledge of Perioperative pathway and Recovery scope


Qualifications

Essential

  • Current level one NMC registration or HCPC registration
  • Mentorship qualification


Desirable

  • Post grad education
  • Evidence of teaching or mentoring new starters
