Job summary
COME AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE and join our enthusiastic and committed team as an Emergency Department Nurse. The Department sees in excess of 52,000 per annum, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, working closely with other acute trusts in the North West. It has also been confirmed that there will be investment into the Emergency Department building (update of existing ED)

Main duties of the job
The role of a Staff Nurse is to support in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of high quality nursing care. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the staff nurse will ensure patients receive the highest level of care, delivered using a holistic, patient-focused approach, while ensuring high standards of documentation are maintained.

- A structured induction programme to the Emergency Department with on-going supervision supported by our Training and Development Facilitator. You will be helped to develop your skills and progress through the National Curriculum and Competency Framework for Emergency Nurses.
- Possibilities of long-term career progression within the Department with plans to develop pathways to the role of Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP)
- Funded training for courses such as Advanced Life Support (ALS), Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) and , in association with the Critical Care Unit, the Safe Critically Ill Transfer Training (SCITT)
