We are looking for an Audiologist who wants to take on a new challenge in a friendly, forward-thinking Paediatric Audiology team. The successful candidate will join an experienced team in Mid Cheshire, providing children's hearing services across hospital and community settings. Additional paediatrics training will be provided where required.
Main duties of the job
The main role of the Paediatric Audiologist is to provide behavioural assessments and formulate individualised management plans for children of all ages, including fitting and evaluation of hearing devices. The ideal candidate will be friendly and approachable with excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude to service development. They will strive to continue providing a family-friendly service that meets the needs of the local population.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of local hospital and community services for people across East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester boroughs (population 357K).
The Trust provides high quality planned and unplanned/emergency care, cardiac and critical care as well as child health, maternity services, and intermediate care across our sites at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford. Job responsibilities
The Paediatric Audiologist works in a range of settings with patients suffering from hearing difficulties, their families & carers.
The Paediatric Audiologist undertakes a range of specialist and routine diagnostic investigations, recording test results into computerised systems, of hearing from children where highly accurate results are vital, working within established policies & codes of practice.
The Paediatric Audiologist works with patients using skills to interpret test results and patients conditions and then formulating individualised treatment plans to provide ongoing care, advice and support to children with all types of hearing difficulties. This includes children with learning disabilities, additional disabilities or special needs. The individual will communicate test procedures & related information to patients, relatives etc.
The Paediatric Audiologist will ensure that a consistently high quality, complex and sophisticated clinical service is provided, meeting the highest national and international standards. This includes maintaining continuous professional development, clinical supervision and training of junior members and staff, working autonomously, managing own caseload of specialist work, planning and prioritising own duties, clinics and organising specialist service provision, whilst demonstrating own initiative.
This role includes contribution to procedures/ service development and complex audit within own area.
