Job summary

Cannock Renal Unit provides haemodialysis for out patients within a community setting. You will be required to deliver a high standard of care and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously as this is a nurse led clinic. You will need to be highly motivated with excellent communication skills in order to work closely with the multi-disciplinary team. Good problem solving and organisational skills are essential. You will also need to be enthusiastic and committed to providing a high quality patient centreed experience.

You will be required to work Monday - Saturday to cover a variety of shifts patterns as the unit is open between 06.30hrs - 19.00hrs. There is also an on-call element (for out of hours emergency dialysis) which all staff are required to participate in.

Main duties of the job

Band 5 haemodialysis nurse required for renal satelite unit based in a commuity setting based in Cannock Hospital. The unit is a 18 station nurse led dialysis unit offering a variety of haemodialysis treatments.

We require a motivated enthusiastic individual who is keen to develop within the role. There is an on-going internal rotation programme between the acute renal unit and the satellite renal units. The successful candidate will be required to participate in the on-call rota on a monthly basis.

Job responsibilities

Practice within the N.M.C Code of Professional Conduct

Participate in the assessment of patient care needs, planning, implementing and evaluating the programme of care in accordance with the agreed policies and procedures of the Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust.

To communicate regularly with patients and relatives to maintain understanding of care pathways.

Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team regularly to ensure timely delivery of care and foster good working relationships.

Act as a positive role model.

Actively encourage the use of evidence based practice

Maintain accurate levels of care and documentation as required by the post.
