An exciting opportunity has arisen on our busysurgical ward specialising in ENT, Plastic Surgery, OMFS and Ophthalmology. We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated, dedicated experienced or newly qualified nurses, to join our new team.

Ward 35 is a busy inpatient surgical ward based at The James Cook University Hospital site, we provide care for planned elective and emergency patients.

Main duties of the job

We will support you in developing your surgical knowledge and skills through our team of supportive staff and formal education programme. You will work alongside Doctors, specialist nurses Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, pharmacists and the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Experience is not essential; as training will be provided, however applicants must be committed to delivering high quality patient care.

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated people with effective communication skills.

South Tees Hospitals is the largest hospital trust in the Tees Valley with two acute hospitals and services in a number of community hospitals.

The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is a designated major trauma centre and provides all its specialties from one site which is unique for a hospital of its size.

It provides a wide range of district general hospital services and specialist services such as neurosciences, renal medicine, spinal injuries, major trauma, cardiothoracics, vascular surgery and cancer services. It has 1,024 beds, a 24-hour acute admissions unit and an emergency department which houses the major trauma centre for Durham, East Cleveland, Tees Valley and North Yorkshire and has its own helipad. In 2012 the Middlesbrough hospital completed a �35 million redevelopment of its cancer services and is now proud to provide some of the best facilities in Europe.

The James Cook University Hospital has a modern, central operating suite containing 20 well-equipped theatres and a 16-bedded intensive care unit. There is also an Institute of Learning, Research and Innovation on site, embracing postgraduate medical education, undergraduate teaching centre, nurse training school, the school of radiography and library facilities.
