Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Acute Cardiac Unit for a Registered Nurse to join our dynamic friendly team as a Staff Nurse.

The Acute Cardiac Unit is a 29 bedded Acute Cardiac Ward. We are a busy unit which specializes in the care of patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions requiring acute care, treatment and intervention. Are you looking for a new challenge?

Main duties of the job

  • To provide high quality, individualised nursing care to patients and their parents/carers through working as an effective member of the inter-disciplinary team.
  • To develop clinical and managerial skills by taking charge of the ward in the absence of the Ward Manager or her deputy.
  • To contribute to the supervision, assessment and education/development of ward staff and students.
  • To contribute to the continuing development of nursing practice through research and audit.

  • oEvidence of continuing professional development through portfolio

Experience

  • oProven NHS experience
  • oExperience of delivering evidence based practice
  • oTeam / people management

  • Cardiology experience
  • Medical Ward experience


Knowledge and Skills

  • oAwareness and understanding of current Government/Trust initiatives/NMC Code of Conduct
  • oGood knowledge of infection control procedures/initiatives
