Job summary
We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Embryologists to join our friendly team here at St. Bartholomew's Hospital in the City of London. Where we treat both NHS and self-funded patients from our local community and further afield.
Main duties of the job
The Embryology Team is compromised of eight HCPC registered clinical scientists, two who are working towards their registration, and four trainees.
Barts Health Centre for Reproductive Medicine is an Health Educastion England (HEE) accredited training centre and currently have several trainees enrolled in the Scientist Training Programme (STP) in Reproductive Science.
There is also the opportunity to become involved in research projects.
The successful applicant must have experience in a full range of embryological techniques with a minimum of two years clinical experience.

We provide a seven day week service which involves working one weekend per month and complete about 1,000 treatment cycles per year. Applicants must enjoy working within a multi-disciplinary team, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be a strong team players, able to work independently and have good attention to detail, in order to deliver a high quality laboratory service to our patients.

- ACE Certificate in Clinical Embryology or STP in Reproductive Medicine

- Practical experience in Clinical Embryology
- Knowledge and understanding of the current HFEA Code of Practice, and associated legislation/regulation
- Awareness and understanding of current issues in assisted conception; a good understanding of the practical implications of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act (1990) as amended.
Skills

- Ability to carry out all of the practical laboratory procedures in assisted conception including ICSI and vitrification.
- Organisational skills - able to deliver agreed objectives within an agreed timeframe
- Team working skills - able to work within a team to achieve results
- Problem solving skills - able to respond to unexpected issues and provide first line response and to identify appropriate sources of secondary support
- Computer literacy (Excel, ACUbase)
