Job summary

Due to relaunch of the clinical rotation for our rotational pharmacists we have reviewed our service to ensure that you would be taking part in patient facing ward roles, getting involved in checking processes of aseptic manufacture of systemic anticancer therapy, systemic anticancer oral verification.

All these skills will be developed as well as taking steps upon your leadership journey preparing you to be a leader of tomorrow, this will enable to clinically supervise and teach within the department.

We can fund you to undertake the Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy at Liverpool John Moore's University or other qualifications can be sourced if you wish to take a technical path in your career.

If you want to utilise your clinical skills on a daily basis and work in a forward thinking department then this is the job for you.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated pharmacist who wishes to help us provide excellent cancer care to the patient of Cheshire and Merseyside.

We welcome applications from trainee pharmacists due to qualify in August 2023 as well as qualified community pharmacists and we will help you gain a post-graduate clinical qualification or equivalent. Most important of all you will bring enthusiasm and commitment to patient care, and we will support you in the development or your career.Oncology experience is not essential as full training can be offered in house. About us

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's leading providers of non-surgical cancer treatment, caring for a population of 2.4 million people across Cheshire & Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man and parts of Lancashire.

Our flagship specialist cancer hospital in Liverpool opened in June 2020, supported by our hospital on the Clatterbridge Health Park in Wirral providing outpatient cancer treatment and supportive care, and our radiotherapy treatment centre on the Aintree Hospital site.

Together, working across three sites and operating specialist chemotherapy clinics in four of Merseyside's district hospitals, we are able to deliver a comprehensive range of inpatient care, advanced radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other systemic anti-cancer therapies including gene therapies and immunotherapies. Job responsibilities

The postholder will be providing exceptional care to oncology patients across the trust and to our satellite hubs.

You will be providing expert advice to are healthcare professionals in relation to our inpatients and also outpatient services.

The postholder will be part of a fabulous team with pharmacist prescribers, medicines management technicians specialist pharmacists, rotational technicians, assistants and a cohort of pharmacists.
