Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated Midwife to join us as a team leader for the birth centre.
Our co-located birth centre team provide holistic care throughout pregnancy and birth, with a firm emphasis on high quality care and patient choice.
As a team leader for the birth centre, you will support your colleagues in offering expert clinical intrapartum care as well as ensuring the smooth running of the birth centre.
Main duties of the job
Your team will consist of core birth centre midwives, who work alongside our continuity team midwives to deliver intrapartum care.
Each continuity team has a team leader with a wealth of experience, to help you deliver excellence and ensure you feel part of a team.
There may be opportunity in the future to rotate into being a continuity team leader but only if desired. We welcome applicants with or without community midwifery experience, but you should have a strong history of delivering care in a low risk environment.
We have a warm and welcoming Maternity team, new and well equipped facilities, and above all our commitment to quality care and safety is absolute.

Knowledge & Qualifications

- Registered midwife NMC
- Teaching qualification.
- Recognised leadership/leadership training
- Degree level study relevant to the post
Experience

- At least 2 year's relevant clinical or management experience
- Evidence of contributing to practice development and research in clinical area
- Proven managerial experience and ability in all areas midwifery care.
- Proven teaching ability and experience of being an effective preceptor / facilitator.
- Evidence of involvement with quality improvement in clinical area
- Experience of staff recruitment, development and performance management
