Job summary

To support the Community Forensic Learning Disability Service (CFLDS) in the delivery of high-quality specialist assessment and intervention in the development of effective clinical services to meet the complex needs of people with a diagnosis of learning disabilities associated with forensic risk particularly those whose behaviour presents serious forensic risks to themselves and the public.

Main duties of the job

The incumbent will be responsible for leading, development, and driving of occupational therapy assessments and interventions for the people under the CFLDS who have a diagnosis of learning disabilities associated with forensic risk through the lens of trauma informed care. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring high quality and effective occupational therapy provision through the use of contemporary evidence-bases strategies and collaboration with all stakeholders. They will also be responsible for providing clinical and managerial supervision to other occupational therapists including students within the team and support them with their professional and personal development.

The incumbent will have extensive occupational therapy clinical experience at senior level accompanied with leadership skills and service development strategies to enhance the quality of life for people supported by CFLDS. they will have knowledge of relevant forensic legal frameworks and experience in working with criminal justice services. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring high quality and effective occupational therapy provision through the use of contemporary evidence-bases strategies and collaboration with all stakeholders. They will also be responsible for providing clinical and managerial supervision to other occupational therapists including students within the team and support them with their professional and personal development. They will lead on complex occupational therapy assessments and interventions care planning and delivery for the CFLDS population

• Diploma/Degree Occupational Therapy Qualification
• Evidence of post-qualified study/short courses and Continuing Professional Development
• Post-graduate training or working towards a master's degree or equivalent
• Fieldwork Educator Training
• Health and Care Professions Council Registration

Desirable

• Post-graduate Certificate in Occupational Therapy
• Leadership and/or Organisational Change Qualification up to Master level
• Accreditation in Assessment and Motor Processing Skills or be willing to gain within 12 months
