Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity and are seeking an experienced and highly motivated trained Nurse Endoscopist, who has completed their competency and training set out by BSG/ HEE allowing them to work independently and autonomously.Preferably Bowel Cancer Screening accredited.
We have 2 units which incorporate 4 Endoscopy rooms at Cannock and 4 rooms at New Cross Hospital. Our Endoscopy service has continued to obtain the prestigious JAG accreditation national award and a recent assessment declared \one of the best in the country.
You will be an integral member within the Gastroenterology and Endoscopy service, providing expert advice and clinical expertise within the multi-disciplinary team.You will become a integral member of a well-established team of ENP's, sharing knowledge and supporting trainee ENPs and registrars.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will take a lead role in the advanced clinical assessment and treatment of patients within Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Directorates. They will autonomously diagnose, plan treatment and preform interventions and be pivotal in the decision making for the patients care.
To deliver advanced level practice this encompasses aspects of education, research and management but is firmly grounded in direct compassionate care provision or clinical work with patients, families, caseloads andpopulations. Nurses working at an advanced level will promote public health and well-being using 'making every contact count' as an approach to change behaviour through interactions with individuals, carers and families to support them in making positive changes to their physical and mental health and wellbeing .80% role clinical20% role in education/research/service development.

Undertake interventional procedures/ highly specialist diagnostics with appropriate consent.
To demonstrate expert and extensive knowledge in areas such as diagnostics, therapeutics, the biological, social and epidemiological sciences, and enhanced skills in areas such as consultation and clinical decision-making in a variety of settings
Ensure/deliver a high standard of compassionate clinical care and record keeping in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Council, national legislation and local standardsLead effective communication with the multi-professional team regarding patient care.
Assess the risks involved in the care of patients and ensure utilisation of practices and protocols to minimise those risks, including safe use of medical devices.
To assess individuals, families and populations holistically using a range of different assessment methods, physical examination, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests or advanced health needs assessment.
Demonstrate resilience and determined leadership in contexts that are unfamiliar, complex and unpredictable.
Create a learning environment that ensures effective learning opportunities for staff and students including appropriate orientation and induction programmes, a range of clinical support strategies (mentoring, coaching, peer review and clinical supervision).
