We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic midwife to join the Maternity team as our Lead Digital Midwife. The role will focus on supporting our maternity service to improve the quality and safety of care we provide to women and birthing people by optimising our Maternity EPR system.Main duties of the job
The Digital Midwife will be an effective ambassador for the trust, be credible and knowledgeable with the confidence and interpersonal skills to work with clinical, managerial and support staff at all levels across maternity services and the wider organisation.
The post holder will be involved in the optimisation of the Badgernet system and will facilitate change within Maternity Services including ensuring compliance with appropriate national and local standards.
The successful candidates will need to have extensive IT knowledge and a skill base of both midwifery clinical practice, and the digital agenda.
The role will cover the Oldham and Rochdale Care Organisations, including our community maternity services. You will need to be willing to travel flexibly and to attend outside events/meetings as and when necessary.
Your working week will be very varied. You will need to be naturally responsive to the changing demands on your priorities and workloads, and manage your own diary efficiently.
The post holder will need to be confident enough to instigate and drive local change to meet the expectations and standards set by the national Maternity digital agenda.

- Registered Midwife
- Degree or equivalent experience or education
- Relevant IT qualification or equivalent experience or education
- Evidence of further study at Msc level or equivalent
- Understanding of IG and confidentiality
- In depth understanding of the national digital agenda
- Comprehensive knowledge of NHS targets and priorities
- Understanding of the MSDS and how to utilise effectively
