Job summary
We are looking to appoint a full time ( 1.0 WTE ) Consultant Psychiatrist to join our comprehensive Dudley Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).This is an additional substantive post following substantial investment in CAMHS.
The main base for Dudley CAMHS is Elm's Health Centre Slade Road, Halesowen, B63 2UR. This is at commutable distance from all the major areas in Birmingham and main towns in West Midlands.
The Consultant in core CAMHS service is required to provide medical expertise and support the existing staff in the assessment, diagnosis and management of children and adolescents presenting with mental health problems. The consultant will provide support to clinical colleagues in deciding the most appropriate intervention for patients referred to the service.
The successful Candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and have a flexible approach to service delivery. We are looking for a team player who enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary setting with highly experienced and skilled staff. The candidate should be capable of providing clinical leadership for the team as well as contributing at senior level to development of our services

Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust provides specialist mental health, learning disability, and community healthcare services for the population of the Black Country. The trust was formed on 1 April 2020. This was after NHS England and NHS Improvement approved the merger of Black Country Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.
The CAMHS services are organised under CAMHS directorate and provides services to Black Country boroughs of Walsall, Dudley, Wolverhampton and Sandwell through four CAMHS teams. There is mix of both district wide and locality based services. Since the merger there has been a move towards harmonization of the services however ensuring that, the local best practice continues.
